Good Morning, Night is the adaptation of the 1988 book The Prisoner by Anna Laura Braghetti – former member of the Red Brigade: a 70s left-wing terrorist organization – which narrates the 1978 kidnapping, detention and murder of Christian-Democrat President Aldo Moro. The film premiered in competition at the 60th Venice International Film Festival, and Marco Bellocchio won both the Little Golden Lion and the Outstanding Individual Contribution Award. This is also the most screened film in Italian Culture classes organized in foreign universities.
